Our story

Our beginnings go back to 2016. Founder Bharti Kannan noticed a gaping hole in menstruation-related interventions, activism and advocacy and that’s how Boondh came to be. Co-founder Sonal Jain came on board when they and Bharti met through a couch surfer, their passions aligned and skill sets complemented one another. Five years hence, we stand four members strong and more driven than ever to make menstruation a non-issue in the country.

We’ve reached communities spanning the length and breadth of the country - from Ladakh to Kerala and Maharashtra to Manipur! And we’ve had the privilege of working with several stakeholders across these regions - sports persons, nomadic communities, workforces at various for-profit and non-profit organisations, female prison inmates, janitorial staff, farmer communities, school and collegiate students, fellow menstrual health professionals and more!

There have been blips across the journey,of course. But an army of friends, well-wishers, interns, and volunteers have held fort with us. They remind us everyday that the story of Boondh’s growth stretches far beyond our tiny team of four.
